A protest stand by the owners and employees of companies and scrap dealers in the western and central region in front of the ministry of economy and industry
A number of owners and employees of scrap companies and dealers in the western and central region organized on Wednesday 16-12-2020 a protest in front of the ministry of economy and industry in Tripoli, to demand the minister for reopening export of iron scrap abroad. Traders mentioned that the export of scrap is considered part of the local income, as it is a source of income for a large number of Libyan families, and considered that the collection of scrap contributes to the sanitation of the environment and the disposal of waste.
After that, the undersecretary of the ministry of economy and industry for economic affairs, Mr. Rajab Khalil, received in a meeting inside the Ministry’s headquarters .The general manager of Misrata chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture, Mr. Abu bakr Shanab, who was authorized by companies and traders to communicate with the ministry and a number of representatives of companies and traders who presented all their demands and problems experienced by businessmen as a result of the closure of exports, as the undersecretary confirmed that all these demands were transferred to the authorized minister of economy and industry immediately.
