On Tuesday evening, 30/06/2026, Misurata chamber of commerce, industry, and agriculture received a high-level Serbian delegation headed by Mrs.( Jagoda Lazarević(, the Serbian minister of domestic and foreign trade. The delegation included Serbian government officials accompanied by Mrs. (Ana Stoyanović), general manager of the Serbian chamber of commerce and industry, alongside representatives from prominent Serbian companies operating in trade, industry, agriculture, and services, in the presence of members from the Libyan ministry of foreign affairs.
The delegation was welcomed by Mr. (Ihab Al-Hadi Al-Owaib), member of the chamber’s board of directors, Mr. (Abubaker Abdulbari Shanab), general manager of the chamber, several administrations directors, along with a group of businessmen and notable figures from Misurata city.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. (Ihab Al-Hadi Al-Owaib) welcomed the minister and her accompanying delegation, introducing the chamber and its role in economic development within its administrative scope, as well as the commercial and industrial significance of Misurata. The meeting also introduced the participating Libyan and Serbian companies to foster networking, discussed matters of mutual interest, emphasized the importance of enhancing communication between the business communities of both nations, and encouraged reciprocal visits to build effective and sustainable economic partnerships.
Furthermore, both sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between Misurata chamber of commerce, industry, and agriculture and the Serbian chamber of commerce and industry. The signing will take place with the presence of the Serbian minister of domestic and foreign trade, the ambassador of the republic of Serbia to Libya, and the Libyan chargé d’affaires to the republic of Serbia. This agreement will serve as a first step toward organizing joint exhibitions for Libyan and Serbian industries in both friendly nations, in addition to hosting economic conferences and various other events.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening economic and trade relations between the state of Libya and the republic of Serbia, opening new horizons for cooperation and partnership, particularly in the fields of investment, trade, industry, and services.
