On Monday morning, 08/06/2026, the activities of the scientific event and student competition was held under the title “Challenges facing the accounting profession: between past and present.” The event was organized by the accounting department at the college, with the participation of students from the accounting information systems course, under the supervision and organization of Dr. Mohamed Omar Abdel-Rahim.
The event witnessed attendance of several faculty members and individuals interested in accounting affairs, alongside the attendance of Mr. Aboubakr Abdelbari Shanab, the General Manager of Misurata chamber of commerce industry and agriculture, in its capacity as the official sponsor of the event. This confirms the chamber’s support for scientific and research activities that contribute to developing national capabilities and linking the academic side with the needs of the labor market.
The event included scientific debates among students and presentations of distinguished applied projects, in addition to panel discussions that addressed the deployment of artificial intelligence in the accounting field, as well as the most prominent challenges facing the accounting profession and its future in light of rapid technological development and the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence technologies.
