The 6th African Construction Expo 2026 Officially Opens in Misurata

The Management Committee of the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture held its first regular meeting for the year 2026 on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026, to discuss the most important developments in the work of the Chamber and to review the monthly financial reports. The Committee also discussed the latest finishing work on the new administrative building of the Chamber.

On Saturday morning, 2/5/ 2026, the city of Misurata witnessed the official opening of the 6th African Construction Expo, with the presence of the Prime Minister, Mr. Abdul Hamid Mohammed adbibA. The opening ceremony was also attended by several ministers, ambassadors, undersecretaries, the mayor and members of Misurata Municipality, and Mr. Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, chairman of the board of directors of Misurata chamber of commerce, industry, and agriculture, alongside a number of public figures and an elite group of local and international businessmen and investors.

The 6th African construction expo stands as one of the most prominent specialized economic events across North Africa and the African continent. Organized by Misurata chamber of commerce, industry, and agriculture in partnership with Sfax chamber of commerce and industry, the expo aims to strengthen economic cooperation, foster the exchange of expertise between the two nations, and support regional economic integration.

The exhibition brings together major local and international corporations specializing in construction, building, infrastructure, and modern technologies. This landmark event opens broad horizons for investment, knowledge transfer, and the localization of modern technology within Libya.

During the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized the vital importance of supporting the building and construction sector as a fundamental pillar of development and reconstruction. He highly commended the excellent organization of this comprehensive economic event and its pivotal role in enhancing economic partnerships and creating new cooperative opportunities among African and international enterprises.

The opening ceremony featured an official tour of the exhibition booths, during which the attendees reviewed the latest innovations and technical solutions in the building and construction sector, as well as modern technologies that contribute to developing infrastructure projects and advancing construction quality.

The four-day expo features a specialized economic forum alongside B2B bilateral meetings connecting international and local companies. These sessions are designed to facilitate genuine partnership opportunities among exhibitors, visitors, and stakeholders in the construction, building, and outfitting sectors.
