On Monday morning, 22 December 2025, at the administrative headquarters of the Chamber, Mr. Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, chairman of the board of directors, and Mr. Abdel Majid Al-Taher Blawo, Vice chairman of the board of directors, accompanied by several department directors, received Mr. Liu Jian, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Libya, and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting began with Mr. Fathi Al-Amin introducing the city of Misurata, the companies affiliated with the chamber, and the key activities organized by the chamber, most notably the new Investment Tower and the 6th African construction exhibition scheduled for May 2026. He also welcomed the reopening of the Chinese Embassy’s operations in Tripoli.
Mr. Liu Jian expressed his strong admiration for the economic development in Misurata and praised some of the activities of Chinese companies operating in the city.
The attendees also discussed facilitating visa procedures for Libyan businesspeople traveling to China, encouraging Chinese companies to accept open credits from Libyan banks, and Mr. Fathi Al-Amin invited the Chargé d’Affaires to consider opening a branch of the Chinese Embassy in Misrata.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the chairman of the board of directors presented the chamber’s shield to the visiting delegation as a commemorative symbol of the visit.
