On Thursday morning, 22, 1, 2026, at the new auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki, Chairman of the board of directors of the Chamber, accompanied by Mr. Abdelmajid Al-Taher Blawo, Vice Chairman of the board of directors, Mr. Ihab Al-Hadi Al-Owaib, member of the board of directors, and members of the Higher Economic Advisory Committee from the Ministry of Economy and Trade representing the ministry, held a meeting with a group of economic experts and several businessmen affiliated with the Chamber to discuss the proposed tax project submitted to the House of Representatives.
The meeting reviewed the provisions of the proposed project and the potential negative impacts on commercial and industrial activities, the method of allocating credits limited to certain companies, and emphasized the need for equality and fairness among all companies within Libya. The attendees stressed the importance of consulting the private sector before approving any tax legislation to ensure economic balance.
It was also agreed to form a follow-up committee to prepare memoranda, communicate with the relevant authorities, propose swift solutions, and reconsider such decisions in the future.
