A meeting was held on Sunday morning, 12/17/2023, in the Seaside meeting room in Misurata Free Zone, a meeting included Mr. (Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki), chairman of the chamber’s board directors, Mr. (Mohsen Mohamed Al-Soqotri), chairman of Misurata Free Zone board of directors , and Brigadier general (Khaled Arhouma Al-Dalaa), head of the customs center, Misurata Free Zone port, Mr. (Mansour Muftah Abu Hajar), Misurata food and medicine  control center manager, and representative of the food and medicine control center, Tripoli, and Mr.(Abdul Salam Karim), vice president of Misurata senate, and a representative of Misurata municipal council, and representatives of some security and oversight bodies. The technician working at the seaport and a number of businessmen and companies importing goods through Misurata port.

The attendees discussed the problems related to the accumulation of goods at the seaport and the reasons for the delay in inspecting goods imported through the port, especially by customs people and the food and medicine control center.

For this part, Mr. (Fathi Al-Amin Al-Turki) explained the point of view and complaints of businessmen and importing companies and the necessity of developing solutions to facilitate the flow of goods of all kinds through the port, especially food and medicine sector.

At the end of the meeting, the attendees agreed to submit the recommendations and outcomes of the meeting to the relevant higher authorities in order to develop appropriate solutions to these difficulties and obstacles.
