A new protest stand in front of the ministry of economy and industry for owners,companies and dealers of scrap in the western and central region
On Tuesday 29-12-2020 owners and employees of scrap companies in the western and central region, , organized a new protest in front of the ministry of economy and industry in the capital, Tripoli, to demand reopening export of scrap abroad, as the protesters raised a number of slogans and banners expressing their dissatisfaction from ministry because it ignored their repeated demands to open exports again, as well as call the Prime Minister’s to replace ministers in charge of economy who has been absent from the ministry for about two months or more, traders mentioned that the export of scrap is considered a part of the local income as it is a source of income for a large number of Libyan families who may live below the poverty line due to the suspension of this work, And they considered that the collection of scrap contributes to the sanitation of the environment and the disposal of waste.
During this stand, the undersecretary of the ministry of economy and industry, Mr. “Al-Hashemi Dhaifallah” went out and spoke with the protesters in order to agree to hold an immediate meeting in the ministry’s meeting hall with representatives of companies and in the presence of the general manager of Misrata chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture, Mr. Abu bakr Shanab, in order for the merchants to present all their demands and the problems that the traders suffer as a result of closing the exports, which they talked about in the previous meeting and which reached the Ministry on several previous occasions, they emphasize that the deadline for the Minister designates response to these legitimate demands is next Tuesday 01-05-2021 .
