Misrata chamber of commerce, industry, and agriculture holds a meeting with the minister of economy and trade of the government of national unity
On Wednesday morning, 16/7/2025, Mr. “Mohammed Ali Al-Huwaij”, minister of economy and trade of the government of national unity, held a meeting at the ministry of economy and trade. The meeting was attended by Mr. “Fathi Al-amin Al-turki”, chairman of the board of directors of Misurata chamber, representatives from the customs authority, the customs brokers syndicate, and a number of businessmen from Misrata and Tripoli.
The attendees discussed the central bank of Libya’s decision to restrict the import of goods except through documentary credits, and the complications this entails in the procedures for the flow of goods into the country. They agreed to urge the central bank of Libya to open other banking payment methods for importing goods, such as direct transfers and documents for collection, to facilitate the payment process for importers abroad.
At the end of the meeting, a committee was formed to communicate with the central bank of Libya to request the outcomes of the meeting.
