Misurata chamber of commerce, industry and agriculture receives the ambassador and the consul Malta

On Monday morning, corresponding to 27/5/2024, at the administrative headquarters of the Misurata chamber,( Mr. Abdel Majeed Al-Taher Balaow), vice chairman of chamber’s board of directors, accompanied by Mr. (Ihab Al-Hadi Al-Awaib) and Mr.( Muhammad Munsif Shaaban), members of chamber’s board of directors. Mr. (Abubakr Abdel Bari Shanab), general manager of Misurata chamber, and a number of administrations directors, received Mr. (Charles Saliba), the Maltese ambassador to Libya, and Mr. (Jonathan Ingerer), the Maltese consul in Misurata city.

The meeting began with Mr. (Abdel Majeed Al-Taher Balaow) welcoming the ambassador and consul, and introducing the chamber and Misurata city  in general. He also mentioned on the projects undertaken by the chamber, the most prominent of which is the new investment building of  Misurata chamber.

For his part, Mr. (Ihab Al-Hadi Al-Awaib), member of chamber’s board of directors, mentioned the possibility of facilitating procedures for Libyan and Maltese businessmen and cooperating with them to move the wheel of the economy between the two countries.

Mr. (Abu Bakr Abdel Bari Shanab) ,general manager of Misurata chamber, also discussed the possibility of holding a Libyan-Maltese exhibition to exchange business ideas and work on forming and exchanging trade delegations between the two countries. He also noted that the consulate should not be limited to providing visas only, but rather provide training courses in many fields and contribute to development. Ambassador Mr.( Charles Saliba) also praised and expressed his satisfaction with the economic development experienced by Libya in general and Misurata in particular, as a result of which the visa issuance office will be opened at the Maltese consulate in Misurata city. The ambassador also expressed his desire for the return of a direct flight between the city of Misurata and Malta in the near future,.

At the end of the meeting, (Mr. Abdelmajid Al-Taher Balaow) presented the chamber’s souvenir to the ambassador Charles Saliba .
